While I was doing some reading this week there was a passage speaking on making fear your friend rather than trying to run away from it. I found it to be interesting that friend and fear were placed in the same stanza seeing as how it’s such a low frequency. Upon reading deeper I learned that the reason for this new companion was simple. When fear is befriended it allows you to confront the source and move forward in finding the reason behind why it exist in your life.
Fleeing from fear only causes more confusion and allows fear to dominate your space. No one has time for major setbacks due to small hang-ups. Instead we scratch the scab off and create a new wound without any recollection of where the cut was to begin with. Knowing what welcomes your fear friend will enable you control when he has to leave.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
